As announced in my earlier post on April 28th 2009 titled Win A Blog A Week – the contest gets under way @ midnight May 1st 2009 (GMT). The requirements to participate in the contest will be announced at the start of the contest.
Before I lay down the T&C I would like to make a couple of statements which are a result of a 3 emails I received asking 1) Why would I give a free installation plus free hosting and 2) What’s the catch?
I am not surprised the “What is catch” question has been asked, but in the form of a comment would have been better – I respect the questioner’s privacy so here goes.
Lets start with “Why?” am I giving away a free service not only on the installation but hosting too! I have 2 reasons that motivated me to do this. The first being that in my short time as an online marketer I’ve learned from some of the well known marketers that in order to get ahead one has to help others get ahead if not then at least help them get started. I started on a shoestring budget and for the very first few months I struggled so I know how it feels.
My 2nd reason is purely business – I am running an online business and I have decided to promote it the way I feel is best for my needs. By giving away the service to a few people I hope the winners will connect with me and become my customers for future transactions. I am also looking to fullfil the needs of a few people who will in return afford me some testimonials not only for this service but future ventures too.
As for the catch – well there isn’t one apart for what is mentioned above. But there are certain requirements that will need to be fulfilled by the winners namely the need for a domain name and having the blog hosted by hosting reseller – more details will be in the contest launch post. Other than that all that remains are the terms and conditions, and there are not many of that too
Infact I have already mentioned some of them but here they are in a nutshell:
- Contest is open to all except for any of my family, close friends and associates.
- Strictly 1 entry per contestant per week.
- Strictly 1 win per contestant, so once you are deemed a winner for one particular week you may not participate further in the contest.
- The winners shall agree to sign up for a free account with the hosting co. and understand that on the expiry of the 12 months free hosting they will become liable to pay for future hosting @ the rate to be announced on commencement of contest.
- The winners shall agree not to use the hosting and the free blog for illegal purposes – no adult, hate, warez, phishing or anti-social content will be permitted on our server.
- The winners shall be sorely responsible for their actions and content of their blog.
- We reserve the right to terminate our hosting service should we deem that there are illegal activities taking place on the blog.
If you are declared a winner, you will be required to take up the service no later than July 31 2009. Failure to do so without a good reason shall forfeit the prize and it shall not be re-offered.
You have to be in it to win it. Look out for the announcement of the requirements and they are very simple and take decisive action – get involved
. In return I guarantee to honour my promise of a first class SEO optimised blog with all the bells and whistle. Plus a first class hosting account to be proud off.
There is an “unannounced” bonus for the winners too
– plus 10 runners up! So if you don’t win the free installation and hosting service you still stand a chance to grab 1 of the 10 bonus prizes as a runner up and as a gesture of thank you for taking part.
I wish you all the best of luck and look forward to be working and networking with some of your to build better blogs that deliver quality unique content for all to enjoy.
