Quality Control Of The Blogging Kind
Weird title I know – weird post too as you will soon discover
Lol you can tell I’ve been gallivanting on the net reading all sorts, that include all sorts of blogs out there in the blogosphere. I don’t know about you but I came across some really weird ones. The one thing that struck me the most was some of the blogs were poorly written, the lay out was all wrong and they had no head or tail. But these very same blogs had PRs of between 3 and 6.
And these very same blogs were actually making money for their owners. The bell started bling blinging in my little head and I started to wonder. If its not the quality of the content, lay out and write up then what is it that is propelling these blogs to such heights?
So I gallivanted some more
snooping around to see what these bloggers do that give them such high returns – not just the monetary returns but the high PR and high volume of traffic. To be honest with you I couldn’t find anything special!
Then it hit me, it has to be off page SEO. People talk in general terms such as “Quality relevant content” and “Search engine optimization – SEO” right? relevant content? Yes but quality control is secondary. SEO by itself is a broad term and cover a vast arrays of mambo jambo fingi magik thingies. What you really want to be concerned with is off page SEO.
The vast majority of bloggers know what off page SEO is but for the newbies here it is in a nutshell: Off page SEO is the art of having as many other relevant and authoritative blogs/sites linking back to your blog! Huh? In layman’s English? OK!
Your blog at http://www.yourdomain.name is brand new or its been around a while. You’ve had a trickle of visitors to your blog and having read what you have to say they like it so much so they go off and tell their friends and thus start a chain reaction of off page SEO – that is one type – commonly known as “Word of mouth”
The other type and perhaps the most important when it comes to PR ranking and getting traffic from the search engines is the “Back link” – this is when the reader likes your article, goes off to their own blog and writes about it including a link back to your blog. This is called the “Natural link back” and this is the kind of back link Uncle Google loves
But hang on, the title says “Quality control” and there is a mention of “These blogs” have no quality – so where does it all link? The quality is in the “Information” provided by the source blogger. If the information is relevant and of high quality most people tend to ignore the grammar, punctuation and spelling mistakes.
So aim to provide “relevant” and good information on your blog and the rest will start to fall in place slowly but surely. The one major mistake some bloggers make is go hunting for back links willy nilly – by all means go and leave comments on other “relevant” blogs and reap the benefits. Don’t just go and leave a comment here, there and everywhere establishing an erratic pattern and earning yourself the dreaded Google sandpit (the sandbox).
So friends remembers this; Its relevant content that is of good quality not the grammatically correct write up. And its about natural back links from relevant and authoritative sites/blogs that will give you the best off page SEO results
Side note: Black Hat SEO is a no no, no matter what anyone tells. Avoid it at all cost – There are no get rich quick schemes and there are no overnight blogging fame – take your time and success will come to you, chase it and it shall always keep on running.
Till the next “weird gallivanting experience” time, this is Zulfikar signing off
Peace and success to you all.
