My Predictions For 2010 Part II – WordPress To Rise In Popularity.
With the advent of new blogs springing up on the net, WordPress as a blogging platform is set to rise in popularity. The community behind this popular software is already huge and will continue to grow.
The evidence is the newly founded WordPress Foundation with its prime location at http://wordpressfoundation.org and sporting a new default theme for WordPress. The foundation is set to add value to the already immensely valuable WordPress platform and by no means is it here to change or take over.
The WordPress Foundation is a charitable organization founded by Matt Mullenweg to further the mission of the WordPress open source project: to democratize publishing through Open Source, GPL software.
You can read more on what the WordPress Foundation is all about at http://wordpressfoundation.org/
Also check out the first post: Getting Off The Ground and while you are there admire the new default theme that is set to be released with future versions of WordPress.
The new default theme is also available to download directly from wordpress themes repository and you can get your hands on it at WP themes repository – Kirby. Be ready for other major changes to WordPress as we proceed to version 3.0 and beyond. I will be sure to bring you more information on these as and when it is released, if you have not done so already please subscribe to my RSS feed by entering your email id in the box bellow this post to be kept updated.
Your comments are always appreciated and I would like to hear your views both on the WordPress Foundation as well as on WordPress as the most popular blogging platform, so please take a moment to have your say in the comments box bellow.

I have played around with other blogging platforms and I always come back to WordPress. I’m familiar with WordPress and that may influence my judgment. As far as new bloggers are concerned WordPress is the way to go. With the built in SEO features under the hood and with plugins it is a no brainier. The community has plenty of support and you can always find help. As far as the foundation is concerned I would hope that the vision will stay intact.
@Rob Wagner@SBA Loans Small Business Loans – I totaly agree with you on the “no brainer” as wordpress deliver in all aspects of blogging.
The foundation is a wait and see game and as long as they stay forcused on their objective, I believe we are going to see WordPress expanding and growing to a magnititude beyond others.
But it looks like that Blogger platform is going better and better, just take a look at their static page now, it seems that Blogger want to beat WordPress in a few months.
.-= Read Reza Winandar´s last blog post>> ..This is blog is now Do Follow =-.
Its really true that wordpress will gain more popularity…
Its always great to use the wordpress for blogging.
Thanks mate for letting us know about this topic.
I have just found your site today and since I work with so many clients and my own sites, I am glad I did. WordPress has changed the game in website creations. Although I still have my SBC site not on a wordpress theme (too much to do!), I have built many sites on WP and can’t say enough about the functionality. I am subscribing to learn more about what you do. (Mind you, your keyword domain name kinda says it all
You said right that there is a huge community, which is using wordpress for blogging and sites. I thing the features and service is really unbeatable.
@Reza Winandar – That does seem to be the case. But lets not forget that blogger is a free service and as with all things free they are the first port of call.
But in terms of a self hosted blog platform (which icidentally blogger doesnt provide) WordPress is ahead and is set to soar even further ahead of its competitors. So as more and more individual look to establish an online presence and in terms of simplicity and ease of use, WordPress is the first choice for many. Add to this the high volume of large businesses and coporates realising the advantage of blogging then the sky is the limit for WordPress and its community.
Would love to hear your views on this

i think there is nothing better than word press in the field of blogging and its popularity is increasing day by day and many people know about it
Yeah, WordPress is definately the best blog platform. I used both Blogger and WordPress and both are easy to use, but there’s just more freedom with Blogger. If you are not technical it is very simple, but you can also do more complex things with it if you choose to.
I agree with you. If you maintain blogs, I suggest to your choice is wordpress which has best features.
All wordpress themes are pretty nice and user friendly. WordPress architecture is SEO friendly.
well whenever it comes to blogging only one word will come to mind which is Word press and why not its been a very popular blog installation provider.
actually from when i started commenting on blogs i find WordPress is the only blogging platform which really amazing and no body in the competition in front of wordpress.
